She is currently the main reporter for the show, her first issue aired on September 5, 2016.
Lukwesa first began reporting for Sky News in 2006, working from shift to shift, reporting for audiences across Europe, Africa, and Asia. At the same time, she was anchoring the Sky World News and sky on the Hour programs. She left Sky News temporarily in 2012 and joined e-News Channel Africa that same new year, an offer that saw her relocate to South Africa. Lukwesa disclosed she was excited at the opportunity because she was hoping to explore a different form of news reporting by hosting live interview sessions. She would return to her job at Sky News in 2013, roughly a year later.
Burak is also the director of a hair production company, Gidore, and has also worked for transport for London and the Leicester City Council. She also once worked with Al Jazeera English.
